5.0 out of 5 stars Finally-A wonderful coffeemaker, January 9, 2010
This review is from: Jura-Capresso Specialty Coffee Makers MG 600, Stainless Steel/Black Accents (Kitchen)
I purchased a capresso coffemaker in the 1990's and loved it. However it was used so much that it wore out. It lasted about 10 years. However I could never find one to replace it that I liked. Well now Capresso has finally come up with a model that is better than the one I used to own. It makes a wonderful HOT cup of coffee and it tastes so great! It's very easy to use, especially filling the tank and I just love it. Thank you Capresso.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hot Coffee, February 25, 2010
This review is from: Jura-Capresso Specialty Coffee Makers MG 600, Stainless Steel/Black Accents (Kitchen)
Looks nice on the kitchen counter. Fairly easy to fill. Removable filter holder. Comes with a gold filter or you can use #4 paper cone filters. Carafe has comfortable handle and pours easily. Construction quality seems good. Replacement carafe and other parts available from Capresso. Replaceable water filters available. Makes great HOT coffee. Worth the money....

Follow up December 2010: Still enjoying the coffee maker. I stll have problems with the replaceable water filters -- they make the coffee maker spit and leak -- the filters seem to stop up after a week or two. I went back to pouring in filtered water from a Brita carafe. Finally: used coffee grounds make great garden fertilizer!

Amazon Verified Purchase( What's this?)

I bought this one after a long search to replace my Braun FlavorSelect that made an awesome cup of coffee and had no weird problems, but lasted for 8 years and then died. I first bought a Bunn and a Cuisinart and literally gave them away to Salvation Army because they didn't do the one and only thing a coffeemaker should do - that's to make a good cup of coffee.
Yes, the reviewers are right, this unit makes a great cup of HOT coffee, but now hear the rest... I exchanged one to find that it's a design flaw and not a defect of the first unit. Toward the end of the brewing cycle water caught between the 2 filter holders streams down the right side of the pot and onto the burner sizzling. That's very bad for the burner and will distroy it in no time. The second problem is that it literally brings the coffee to a simmering boil immediately after it's done brewing. It's easiest to see when the coffeemaker is brand new and you brew water 1st time to clean the unit from the factory... Read more
