Clever Coffee Dripper

Product Description

The Clever Coffee Dripper is an easy way to brew great coffee without bitterness, acidity or loose grounds. The difference is it's new shut-off valve system. Instead of pushing the grounds to the bottom of the brew carafe, the grounds settle naturally.

Just set the paper filter into the brewer, add some coffee and boiling water, stir and let brew for 4 minutes. Place the Clever Coffee Dripper on top of a mug and watch as it fills with perfectly brewed, perfectly clear coffee in seconds. Lift the brewer off the mug and the Patented Shut-Off System stops the flow. (For even hotter coffee, run some boiling water through the dripper and into the mug before adding coffee to preheat them both, then pour out that water and begin the above process.)

  • Filter allows for easy cleanup and prevents grounds in your coffee
  • Water can be poured over the grounds all at one time
  • Shut-off valve design holds the coffee until the brewing process is complete
  • 100% BPA Free Plastic, including lid
  • No need to worry about brewing temperature dropping, just use some of the boiling water to preheat the dripper and your mug.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great coffee maker, November 30, 2010
This review is from: Clever Coffee Dripper
As one of many who is always looking for the best coffee maker, I was happy to try the Clever Coffee Dripper when it came out. I discovered It is easy and makes the best cup of coffee yet. If you like French press, you've got it here. The dripper has a stopper in the bottom that opens once you place it on your coffee cup - so you get a fresh cup each time. And clean up is simple. All you have to do is dump the filter and rinse the dripper - that's it. Here is how I make a cup: I place a filter in the dripper and wet it with hot water and then spoon the coffee into it (I use a digital scale to get the same amount each time). Then I pour really hot water into the dripper, put the lid on top and wait 4 minutes. In the meantime I pour hot water into the mug to get it ready. Then when the 4 minutes are up I empty the mug and place the Clever dripper on top - the stopper opens immediately and the brewed coffee empties into the hot mug. It couldn't be simpler.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best. Coffee. Ever. (For the price), February 8, 2011
This review is from: Clever Coffee Dripper
I'm not what you would call a 'fanatic', but I just have to have a good strong cup of coffee. I've tried most of the other methods with varying degrees of success. I liked the French Press, but couldn't deal with the sludge at the bottom of the cup. I'm told that the proper grinder will eliminate this, but who wants to spend $200 on a grinder? This is the best $20 I ever spent on a coffee gizmo.

Some others have commented that the coffee gets too cold, or doesn't make a good cup. All I can say to them is...you're doing it wrong.

1) Pre-wet your filter & pre-heat your cup or carafe.
2) Heat water to boil.
3) Take water off heat & start grinding your beans.
4) Pour water over coffee, stir, cover, wait four minutes.
5) Steep into cup.

If you grind your beans too soon, or if you let your water get too cold, that WILL affect your cup of coffee. With a little practice and experimentation, you can have a fantastic cup of... Read more

4.0 out of 5 stars Makes one cup at a time., January 8, 2011

This review is from: Clever Coffee Dripper
The Clever Coffee Dripper uses #4 cone filters, but only makes one cup at a time. Recommended time for steeping the coffee is 4 minutes. It takes about another minute to drain all the coffee into your cup.

It makes great coffee! Easier clean-up than a French press or a stove-top espresso maker. Better coffee than an automatic drip coffee maker.

I collect various ways to make coffee (including high-end Jura, various vacuum contraptions from around the world and the usual assorted percolators and presses) and this is hands down my new favorite. It's easy to assemble and easy to use, despite looking like something out of a 1950's sci-fi film. Granted, the parts are a bit delicate to clean (so be careful) and it takes a few hours to brew (so it's not for the spontaneous afternoon pick-me-up) but if you're looking for the smoothest, cleanest most satisfying cup of iced coffee, this is the one to get. This is true java chic!

Technivorm KBT-741 Moccamaster polished graphite Coffee Maker 1.25-L.

Product Description

The Technivorm Moccamaster KBT-741 Clubline brewer is a simple, precise and elegant electric drip brewer. No gadgets here. This is a handmade coffeemaker built in Holland. The main asset of the Moccamaster is its ability to maintain perfect brewing temperature throughout the entire brewing cycle, an attribute that has earned it certification from at least two coffee trade associations. This is a quality product, done simply. It uses an independent energy-efficient heat exchanger that brews directly into the stainless-steel-lined ThermoJug server. That means your coffee maintains an optimal temperature between 194 and 204??F. A consistent temperature is key to preserving the flavors and aromas of coffee, and this machine does just that. It also brews a full pot in about 5-6 minutes. The Technivorm Thermal takes an exceptional machine ??? the Technivorm Clubline KB 741 ??? and improves upon it by replacing a hot plate with a thermal carafe. There???s a reason that Technivorm has created 1 of only 2 machines that meet the Specialty Coffee Association of America???s (SCAA) certification standards, and that???s because its design preserves the entire spectrum of flavors in every cup. Water is heated and passes through the coffee consistently, brewing quickly and quietly. It is also approved by the European Coffee Brewing Centre (ECBC) and Specialty Coffee Association of Europe (SCAE). Only a h

3.0 out of 5 stars 5 Stars out of 5 for good coffee, but it's a bit quirky, April 30, 2009
By

I just got this and must say it does the job ( hence the 5 of 5) of delivering the hot water to the coffee and brewing very good coffee, but it has quirks I'm not appreciating in my morning coffee brewing routine. First after its finished brewing there is still 1/2 cup of water in the "plumbing" which requires you to tip the pot over and empty very hot water out, other wise you'll be starting with stale water and perhaps accelerating the scaling,
second the foot plate does not "lock in" as they say so when you lift the pot to move it( or empty it) it does fall off ,
third to my dismay the thermal jug will require a brush to keep clean as the mouth is too narrow to get your hand in there to scrub( this is also a VERY BIG problem with my Capresso thermal),
fourth since the top of the thermal jug does not fitback in under the coffee basket when its on the jug I'm tryig to figure out where to keep everything so not to use up extra counter space nor lose the... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Best rated from what I've read., July 6, 2009
By
I've been using this coffee maker since my Cuisinart Grind and Brew disappointed me for the last time. They sell this coffee maker at the local coffee shop here in Chicago, Intelligentsia... great coffee BTW. It was the only coffee maker they sold, and the one of the best recommended by Coffee Geek [...]. I've been very happy with the consistently good coffee that this machine produces. The carafe keeps the coffee warm for about eight hours, it brews fast, and is quiet. I think it happens to be beautiful to look at as well. It's about as simple as they come, no bells and whistles here... just for purists. Technivorm also has very good customer service, which is nice for a company to offer these days. I would buy it again, hands down.

5.0 out of 5 stars Five Stars for the amazing brew--but they can make this design much better, March 3, 2010

For nearly 300 bucks, you'd think they'd fix the weird design issue this has and that others document here in reviews. However, I love the coffee so much, I can't even bring myself to take a star away in the rating:

I'm not a coffee expert or critic or anything. I just love a good, non-bitter, fragrant cup with interesting flavors. I spent a lot of money buying gourmet "freshly-roasted" coffees over the years and finding they all tasted pretty ordinary. Well, duh. I had an ordinary coffeemaker all those years (Mr. Coffees, Melitta, etc).

For my birthday last year, I invested in a good set-up--this Technivorm, a burr grinder, a filtered-water pitcher, and good beans from George Howell. And now, I'm in coffee heaven. FOR THE FIRST TIME I can taste those subtleties you read about in coffee reviews by the cognoscenti--which I am not one!--the caramel, chocolate or floral notes, etc. Yep. I taste them now! I had no idea coffee could be this good. Now, when I go... Read more
