We Louisianans like our coffee pretty brawny, and you just can't get good, strong brew from this machine. I brought the first one back, and traded for a different one (same model) because I thought it was defective. Ended up taking #2 back, too, for a refund.
While your typical brew-only machine might have 3-4 parts, this one (I think) has 7 or 8. After making the coffee, the entire grinding portion has to be disassembled and cleaned (bean cup with lid, blades, chute) - much of the actual ground beans are trapped here, and all these parts are thickly coated with wet, steamy bean sludge.
All would be forgiven if the coffee was delightful, but it is merely lackluster and uninspired.
Good idea, but not well executed.

Equipped with a built-in conical burr grinder, this coffeemaker automatically grinds and brews up to 10 cups of exceptionally flavorful coffee. The unit's slow burr grinding produces minimal heat, which helps preserve coffee's full aroma and flavor, while its solid-steel conical burrs offer five grind settings from coarse to fine for adjusting the coffee strength. A user-friendly push-button control panel with an easy-to-read illuminated LCD display ensures simple operation and programming. Choose from five brew amounts (2 to 10 cups) and select the coffee strength: mild, medium, or strong--or set the clock and timer for automatic brewing at a later time. The coffeemaker provides two modes of operation for brewing coffee with or without the grinder. Grind/Brew mode grinds a programmed amount of whole beans directly into the gold-tone filter, then automatically starts the brewing process. Brew mode allows for adding ground coffee without the use of the grinder--simply push the filter-release button to open the swing-out filter holder. Freshly brewed coffee dispenses into the included 10-cup stainless-steel thermal carafe, which comes with a stay-cool handle and non-drip spout. For sneaking a quick cup midbrew, just remove the carafe from the machine to pause the flow of coffee, then return it to continue brewing. Other highlights include a 200 degree F brew temperature, a 6-ounce capacity bean container, a see-through window for checking to make sure ground coffee flows smoothly into the filter holder, a detachable see-through cover for cleaning the grinder channel, a charcoal water filter that removes up to 82-percent of chlorine and other impurities from tap water, and two-hour automatic shut-off for safety and peace of mind.

I've owned a Starbucks Barrista Machine for many years and it still works great, but I've gone through more grinders. I hadn't planned on replacing my coffee maker but a really good burr grinder isn't cheap. I saw this machine and saw the reviews and realized it wasn't that much more than a good grinder. I realized this would reduce the unsightly mess I have on my counter from two appliances and considering my usually degree of early morning incoherence before coffee (a cross between Frankenstein and name your least favorite member of Congress) - anything that makes 6 am simpler is a good thing.

Setting up this machine was a breeze. I unpacked it, installed the charcoal filter and ran a cold pot of plain water through. I filled it up with beans and fresh water and let it go for the next morning. I won't say I looked forward to 6 am. I'm not that crazy, but this morning I was greeted by an excellent pot of coffee. While this machine makes excellent coffee, my only complaint is that the coffee is not hot enough. For some, it may be fine. For me, I would like the temperature hotter. If you soak the carafe in hot water before brewing, that helps. But who wants to do that every time you brew?

What can I say, Cuisinart has a winner here. The fresh whole bean grinding upon start guarantees you FRESH Coffee and the vacuum canister included in this combo keeps out the air preventing the beans from drying out. I like it so much I have sold plenty of my friends on it's benefits and the girls keep coming back.......for my coffee, lol

Cuisinart makes great products and they have continued their excellence with this product. My one caveat is that the coffee grounds in the grinder get wet from the steam when coffee is brewing. Before making more coffee, you have to take out the parts, rinse and completely dry them before grinding more coffee. If you skip the rinsing and drying part, more grounds build up and it makes a mess. In a perfect grind/brew product, the grinder would be sealed off from the steam. Other than that, it has been a great product for us.

It works very well for frothing milk for cappuccinos and lattes. The kids enjoy using it for blending drink powders in their beverages. The Aerolatte is easily to clean and store in a drawer too. For the price you can have a couple on hand. I also like that the batteries last a long time especially for how often we use it. I would recommend this product for those that do not have counter space for a cappuccino machine and for those who have kids that enjoy well blended chocolate milk!

Initially the aerolatte worked well making froth with heated milk. It works very poorly with cold milk. The battery life is about a week with good froth and a week with mediocre froth. After that, you have to change the batteries or it's not worth the time. Additionally, the side casing broke with the first battery change so that you have to hold the battery door on. I got a bodum frother as a back up and one day took the old batteries out of the aerolatte and put them into the bodum. Well, the foam quality was leaps and bounds above the aerolatte. The bodum also took about 1/4 of the time to make the foam with no vibration. I used the old batteries in the bodum for about a month with no deterioration in foam quality. I'd probably still be using them had it not been that my toddler dropped the bodum on the floor where it shattered into about 6 pieces.
