This very simple set-up was inexpensive and doesn't have any electrical parts to break.The best thing, though, is that this makes the best coffee ever. Seriously. Here's the method: I grind my beans right before brewing. I pour boiling water over the grounds, just enough to soak them. Then I pour again to fill the filter with water. And I stir with a spoon. Pour and stir, pour and stir, until all the water has gone through. Simple, easy, and amazingly good coffee. Not being a coffee drinker, I always thought it was embarrassingly low tech. Now that I'm an adult (though still not a big coffee drinker), I wanted something inexpensive that wouldn't take up a lot of counter space, would be easy to care for and would make decent coffee. After looking at various options, I finally settled on this one, and I'm glad I did. Not only does it work perfectly well, as advertised, it also makes great-tasting coffee (which is more than I can say about the little stovetop percolator I tried before investing in this one). It's also easy to store in my cabinet when not in use.Two additional notes: The coffee maker calls for size 6 filters, and those are great to have when you're making a full pot.
